Requirements to become a webcam model

Model

• Be 18 years old (Or 21 years old in some countries).
• Have an identity document (some platforms require a passport or driver’s license).
• Leave seriousness aside.
• Have a lot of charisma, creativity to pose in a very sexy way and daring when you are in a public or private show.

Internet

Have a high speed Internet connection, especially the upload speed. Internet providers offer a connection where the download speed is much higher than the upload speed in ADSL, HFC or fiber optic connections. In some fiber optic plans, the download and upload speed are the same speed, but the price may be higher. However, over time, fiber optic plans may become more affordable to the public.

Below is a chart showing the quality that a model can broadcast according to its upload speed.

• 2 mbps upload: The model will only broadcast in 480p or SD format.
• 5 mbps upload: The model can broadcast in 720p or HD format.
• 10 mbps upload: The model can broadcast in 1080p or FULL HD format.
• 16 mbps upstream: The model can broadcast in 1440p or WQHD format.
• 20 mbps upload: The model can broadcast in 4K format.

Keep in mind that these speeds are only for broadcasting on a single page, if you plan to broadcast on a 2nd or 3rd page, you will need more upload speed.

Computer Hardware (PC or Laptop)

There are computers with different technical specifications for different job profiles, from processors for office work to photo and video editing. I recommend an Intel I5 or AMD Ryzen 5 of the latest generations for broadcasting.

IMPORTANT: I do not recommend the Intel Celeron, Intel Atom, Intel Dual Core, AMD Athlon processors because they are low-cost basic processors that take a long time to load Windows and its applications.

With respect to RAM:

If you are planning to buy a desktop or laptop, the minimum for the computer to work is 4 GB of RAM, but the recommended is between 8 GB and 12 GB. You should know that the more applications you have open such as Google Chrome with several tabs open, OBS, Spotify and perhaps other programs, your computer will need more memory to work smoothly.

With respect to storage space:

Currently computers are sold with 512 GB hard disks that are enough to have Windows and the necessary applications to stream such as OBS and Spotify. There are also computers with 1 TB of space, but this is for storing heavier files such as downloading applications, music, games, series or movies.

You should also know that there are 3 types of hard disks: mechanical disks, SSD disks and the new M2 NVME disks. If you want Windows and application loading to be fast, the SSD will be much faster, but the M2 NVME even faster. The M2 NVME are only available in modern computers and laptops.

Room

A tidy room is recommended, preferably with light-colored walls so that the lighting helps more. Users love well-lit models so they can see every detail of the model.

Webcam

Another requirement to become a WebCam model is a webcam. The minimum is an HD webcam, but a webcam with a Full HD resolution (1920×1080) or higher (4K) is recommended. Remember that the higher the resolution, the more upload bandwidth you will need on your Internet connection.

Among the most recommended webcams for streaming are Logitech and Elgato:

If you have a laptop with a webcam that supports HD (1280×720) or Full HD (1920×1080) resolution, these cameras are not as good and will be somewhat blurry. It is recommended to get a more professional webcam like Logitech or Elgato.

NOTE: If you are planning to stream in Ultra HD 4K (UHD), I recommend a laptop with 1 USB 3.0 or 3.1 port.

Wireless mouse and keyboard

So that you can work more comfortably and not feel uncomfortable with cables, it is recommended to use a wireless keyboard and mouse. There are keyboards that integrate a touchpad for the mouse, but it is a little uncomfortable. It is advisable to buy a keyboard and mouse separately.

In case you want a touchpad for the mouse inside the keyboard, you have the Logitech K400+ keyboard.

Erotic lingerie

Some users are fetishists of certain objects such as high heels, sandals, flip-flops, ballerinas or ballet flats, tennis shoes, stockings, pantyhose, nylons, latex, miniskirts, etc. You don’t have to have everything, but some of these items are required.

Dildos, vibrators and lubricants

Another requirement for being a webcam model is toys. If you are just starting out in the world of webcam modeling and don’t have sex toys, you can use your fingers to stimulate yourself while users send you tokens.
